It's been a while!
Hearing Kling and Veron talk about blogs, i got tempted and came back for a peak. Last post was like when i was YEAR 1 SEM 1 and still mugging and debugging my CZ1102 programs and getting nervous over GEM2507 assignments and tutorials. Now 4 years, many many modules and exams later, i'm sitting here in front of the computer looking for jobs and reading my kindle. Back then i was younger, fitter and more tanned (LOL) when i still hanging out at the archery range and still playing sports. But now having been stuck at home for a few weeks now, almost died after one round of RT and my thighs still aching like mad. Although every year i resolve to get gold for IPPT and this year i was really working hard and regularly but due to unforeseen circumstances ended up failing 2.4 by quite a bit :( Yup, it's time to review my goals now and to kick start my life and motivate myself!
Before i get over my head and start setting too many goals, i should put an end and keep it short and clear so it's easier to accomplish. Till the next time i get an impulse to post again, i hope i have at least accomplished one of the above.

Archery was great! Really motivated to go gym more often in school and work out a sweat..
But on the other hand, studies quite cui.. CZ1102 is really tough and the lecturer isn't much help.. C++ is like a foreign language to me and i'm just beginning to grasp some of its commands! And gcc is a really idiotic tool! It's like 90% of the time there's some error like an extra comma here, a bracket missing there and it shows you a bunch of errors and it's like not helping AT ALL.. Our tutor teaches for 30 min and the rest of the 2 hours period he just lets us OTOT while other tutors take up more than 2 hours to finish the tutorial and still hasn't finished covering everything.. Maybe i should seriously turn on mugging mode, long gone are the days when there are CAs, tests, prelims before the final deciding factor, now everything counts, classroom participation, attendance, assignments, every nitty gritty detail can be considered a % of the total score.. Already got shortchanged in GEM2507 tutorial cos i didn't speak up, so next time must be more GARANG and pester the tutor not to the point of annoyance but to really participate and generate ideas. Next semester i'm sticking to core modules! I realise i can do maths the whole day even if i get stuck at some place instead of 30 mins on reading and analyzing case studies.. Aim for the sky! Or you'll never know how wide and free the sky can be, and even if you do fall, you'll end up amonst the clouds :)

Happy Teachers' Day! Haha.. I'm sorry to say that i haven been going back to visit my teachers.. However, i do believe that keeping in touch and going out once in a while is more important that really going back on teachers' day itself. The gesture of taking the day off to go back is really nice but more often than not, teachers don't remember me as i'm not the most naughty in class nor the brightest. Haha
Archery was great! Serving came loose right at the start when i was plucking my bow to set my limbs.. Luckily Sing Kiat was around to help me redo the serving.. Ive seen him doing it but i'm not sure if i can rmb the steps.. Plus making a new nocking point to replace the old one which comprised of a bunch of lose serving stuffed together to make a temporary nocking point which actually turned hard after some time.. After some hard time under the poor lighting, DA GONG GAO CHEN! Can go shoot some arrows le.. But on my very first end, the bottom half of the nocking point came off.. ARgh! But luckily the top part stayed intact so i just carried on shooting. But another problem cropped up - my too short arrows(suspect Mr T sold me second- hand arrows that were already cut) so went back to the lounge to get "new" arrows! Actually they belonged to some senior who donated to the club after they left.. The arrows proved to be a great help and i was finally anchoring much better.. Made lots of improvement today and learnt how to make serving! (Hopefully i remember), Can't wait for next training to start :) But first of all, handball competition starts tmr! Gonna be a busy week ahead..

Vanity isn't a sin, a little narcissm wouldn't hurt.not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down. I'd rather be hated for who i am than to be loved for who i am not The only people you need in your life are the ones that proved they needed you in theirs. For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind. Silence is the true friend that never betrays. |
